Over the past year your donations have helped us continue our conservation work, develop interpretation within the Exhibition hall and enhance our education services.
During the next twelve months we would like to:
» complete a comprehensive conditioning report for the thousands of artefacts within our collection,
» complete the bi-annual specialist clean of the mosaic floors,
» produce a walking guide to the exhibition for our visitors and consult with you on the benefits of this guide;
» introduce tactile interpretation in the Exhibition hall for sight impaired visitors;
» rewrite our existing guidebook to take on board the latest archaeological evidence;
» introduce a family and children guidebook following consultation with visitors;
» develop an activities programme for young adults with learning disabilities;
» continue to review and improve the Exhibition.
Looking further ahead we are looking to develop the Exhibition and Visitor Centre further. In particular:
» we need to replace the old Edwardian cover buildings over the Hypocaust and Well;
» owing to the increased number of schools and educational visits to Brading Roman Villa we need to expand our education room and facilities;
» we currently display less than 1 % of our collection within the Exhibition Hall and would like to extend our exhibition area for all our visitors.
None of this work would not be possible without your assistance. You can support us in several ways:
Single gifts can be made by cheque, credit or debit card. Simply send a cheque made payable to the Oglander Roman Trust, visit the Villa with your credit card or call us and we can receive payment over the phone. If you are a UK tax payer you can help us even more by completing a Gift Aid form.
By making a regular gift; monthly, quarterly or annually by Direct Debit, we will benefit from your continued support. Allowing us to budget and plan for the future.
Under the Gift Aid scheme all gifts made by UK tax payers qualify for tax relief, allowing the us to increase the value of your gift by 28% at no extra cost to you. In order for us to claim the tax relief under the Gift Aid scheme, you must be paying an amount of UK income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax deducted from their donation.
Making a Will is very straightforward and lets you plan how you want your inheritance to be distributed. Any gifts you make to charity, including the Oglander Roman Trust, are deducted before any Inheritance Tax is calculated, so that the amount of tax that may be liable on your estate is reduced. We strongly advise you to contact a solicitor to help draw up your Will to ensure that your exact wishes are carried out.
If you wish to discuss any of the above in detail, please do not hesitate to contact Chris on 01983 406223.
